A few more native species have turned up at the house including Pale Beauty,
Campaea perlata, Dark Marbled Carpet,
Dysstroma citrata and Pale-marked Angle,
Macaria signaria. Also a rather nice greenish pug which may prove impossible to identify. (22/6/2010 - this turned up again and was in fact 'Green Pug' -
Pasaphila rectangulata, another European species! According to
bugguide it was only introduced in 1970.)
Campaea perlata - Pale Beauty
Dysstroma citrata - more typically dark than the Vancouver Island specimen
Macaria signaria - this is a subspecies (
dispunctata) of the moth known as Dusky Peacock in the UK (subsp.
signaria)
